St Anton is without doubt one of the most famous ski resorts of the world. It is without doubt as important as for example Vail (Colorado - USA),
Whitsler (British Columbia - Canada), Zermatt (Switzerland) or Val d'Isere in France. One reason for this reputation is for sure the wide
choice of slopes at St Anton. It is connected with Lech-Zürs (free bus transfer included in the lift ticket which are valid in both areas)
and therefore offers 280km of slopes in total.
The offer of slopes includes well-groomed beginner slopes (especially at St. Christoph and in the
valley area of St. Anton) as well as demanding off-piste runs. An example is the ski route from Valluga peak (2811m) which offers finest powder if
the snow level is good...
Snowboarder and off-piste enthusiasts will love the powder runs at "Schindlerkar" and "Vallugagrat". Another great thing about St Anton are the
super modern chair lifts which especially cater to snowboarders. Boarders who love to show off some jumps or rail slides should definitely go
to the Boarder park at the "Rendl" area. But these things are not the reason for the fame of St Anton.
Everyone knows that this is the place to
party and enjoy Apres Ski at its finest. Numerous cozy and rustic huts which are all over the ski resort make sure that everyone gets original
austrian food. Bars which are made out of snow or are nestled underneath a big umbrella inivite the skiers to have a drink or two :). When you made
it back to the valley after all this strenous powder runs and drinks the village offers a ton of apres ski bars. Almost every day these places are
really crowded with people. My advice is to go the the best hut at St Antons the Mooserwirt which is directly
located at the run to the "Galzigbahn"" (base area St Anton).
